Benson Elliot's Trish Barrigan named "rising star" of the private equity real estate industry

Accolade highlights formidable resume and influence on the asset class

25 June 2007 — Benson Elliot Capital Management senior partner Trish Geery Barrigan has been selected by Private Equity Real Estate, flagship magazine of the private equity real estate industry, as one of twenty rising stars of the global private equity real estate industry.

Ms. Barrigan was a founding partner of Benson Elliot, and has played a key role in the firm’s widely-acknowledged success story. Ms. Barrigan joined Benson Elliot from the Dubai Investment Group, where, as Managing Director and Head of Global Real Estate Investments, she directed DIG’s global real estate investment programme. Ms. Barrigan started her investment career at Goldman Sachs, where she played a key role in the establishment and early success in Europe of Goldman’s Whitehall Funds.

Commenting on Ms. Barrigan’s recognition by PERE, Benson Elliot managing partner Marc Mogull said: “Trish is one of the most experienced and talented professionals in this industry. She combines great investment judgement and execution skills with impressive relationship-building and people management skills. Importantly, having grown up in France, she has a natural understanding of the cultural environment in which we operate.”

In naming Ms. Barrigan as one of a group expected to “shape the evolution of the asset class,” PERE recognised Ms. Barrigan as “arguably the most senior female private equity real estate pro in Europe”. Amongst her other achievements, PERE highlighted Ms. Barrigan’s role in establishing and leading the Urban Land Institute’s Women in Real Estate initiative.
